It’s true, and here’s a few recent Logo’s we’ve designed for your viewing pleasure..!
Top Left is the new Logo for new German Reggae Ska label Jamaican Jazz – look out for new releases from them soon – On the top right appears the Logo for the much anticipated Brooklyn Rocksteady documentary project – Middle left is the Logo for Black Dynamite, a superb new band on the scene in the UK who include Tim G (Of Big Tone Recording Studios fame) within their ranks – Middle Right is a design for the ace ska show RudeBoy’s Revenge & Coffee Hour, coming live & direct from Matthew Griffin out of Portland, Oregon on www.kpsu.org – Next up is a new Logo design for reggae legends the Israelites, what an honour it is to design for those fella’s – Bottom Left see’s a fresh look for female fronted ska giants, the Sentiments and finally on the bottom right we have the Clean Cut Logo, which supports a fantastic new monthly music night right here in Vancouver Canada, if you’re local, you’ll know that’s not to be missed – Phew..!
The latest print off the Combi13 press is this Gigposter for Vancouver’s very own Power Ska band ‘Rude City Riot’ – The band look set to kick off a storming 2011 with this double header show at the downtown venue, Malones…Having just signed to Stomp Records, the band are currently putting the finishing touches to tracks on their upcoming debut full length, some of which eager fans will be able to hear during these upcoming gigs…Supporting the band on the Friday show we have Reggae on the Rocks, led by the outrageously talented Lady Mish Mash on vocals, ROTR take classic rock slices and give them a heavy dose of reggae flavour & packing the dancefloor with their deep grooves…Both of these bands, I can’t personally recommend enough for a good night out..! Saturdays show will see Rude City Riot supported by ‘Special Guests’, whom I’ve never seen play but have noticed their name cropping up on Posters all the over the world, so hey, they must be good right..?
Take a spin over to Myspace to hear these bands if you haven’t had the pleasure yet…
And of course, have a look at our poster design, here’s hoping you dig it..!
Fantastic news for Ska Fans this month comes in the shape of the a new digital single by Power Ska sensations Rude City Riot…”Rudies Don’t Care” carries on the band’s tradition of in your face punky ska coupled with infectious horns and a memorable sing-a-long chorus – Take a look at Combi13′s cover art below and check the band on www.myspace.com/rudecityriot for more information on this exclusive SkaSpot Records release..!
After last years successful debut, Montreal Ska Fest returns again with an absolutely stella line up – Some of the top names in Reggae & Ska music shall be gracing the stage at Club Soda from the 14 to 16th of October – What’s most impressive about this whole venture is that it’s all organized by Ska Fans for Ska Fans, there’s no big money corporate sponsor here, this 100% independent and all the better for it…So if you’re out East with a pair of dancing shoes, get yourself through the door on any or all nights, make some friends and treat yourself to some fine music courtesy of the Montreal Ska Society..!
We were lucky enough to design the posters, which are right here for the joy of your peepers..!

Yes Yes, Ladies & gentlemen, Boys & Girls, those Funked up Warriors of Rock, Fuzzcat are playing a special stripped down acoustic show right here in Vancouver, this very Saturday night – This is a great chance for fans to get up close and witness unique versions of songs from the bands unique armory, not to mention them being joined by local upcoming talent, Evan Holmes & Jamie Thomas for the evening’s programme – We here at Combi13 expect a great night of music, frivolity & spectacular musicianship..! AND, if that wasn’t enough to tickle your senses, we dearly hope you enjoy our poster design…
Some might say this is gonna be the hottest show of the summer and I’m not one to disagree – Expect the Anza to be packed to the rafters..!
Featuring the funk ska stylings of Fuzzcat, the mighty punk ska stomp of the Furios, the one & only Giraffe Aftermath plus HillyDilly, this place is gonna be on fire Friday 27th..!
Once again this Summer Seattle will play host to the Ska vs Scoot, scooter rally – And what better way to round things up than with a great ska show..?! ‘Natalie Wouldn’t’ head up a strong line up with their uptown Ska sounds, also you’ve got Do the Dog’s Acoustic songsmith ‘Drewvis’ along with Soul Reggae upstarts ‘The Valuables‘.
When we were asked to do the Gig Poster art for this show, we nearly bit their hand off..!
If Fuzzcat aren’t blazing a trial across stages with their high energy live show, you’ll most likely find them to be writing hook laden funked up ska tunes that will knock you right out of your socks – Their latest offering ‘I Get High’ does just that and then some… With new guitarist Steve and multi instrumentalist Peter joining their ranks, the Fuzzcat sound has now expanded so much it’s now somewhere well north of Awesome..!
As a thankyou to all you Fuzzy Fans out there, the band are giving this summertime anthem away free on their Myspace until Sunday the 18th August 2010, to download follow the link below and get her cranked..!
That’s right, January 29th see’s the return of the Riot accompanied by BC legends The Kiltlifters and one of Vancouver hottest new acts, The Valuables..!
